Black Jack

Blackjack, also known as 21, is one of the most popular card games played in casinos over the world. The game is typically played with 1 to 8 decks of 52 cards with the objective being to beat the dealer by either:

  1. Getting a total card value of 21 with the first two cards (called a “blackjack”), without the dealer also having a blackjack.
  2. Reaching a final score higher than the dealer without exceeding 21.
  3. Allowing the dealer to draw additional cards until their hand exceeds 21.

This is how the game is played:

  • Each player, including the dealer, is dealt two cards. The players’ cards are usually dealt face up, while the dealer has one card face up (the “upcard”) and one face down (the “hole card”).
  • Players then have the option to “hit” (take another card) or “stand” (keep their current total). They can also “double down” (double their bet in exchange for one or more cards) or “split” which means if they have two of the same value or rank cards.
  • The dealer plays after the players according to casino rules: usually, the dealer must hit until their cards total 17 or more.
  • Winners are determined based on the final card totals.

The game requires not only luck but also some strategic thinking, as players must decide how to play their hands based on the dealer’s upcard.
